What a safe zone actually is
The platform draws its own interface over your post: a caption, your handle, a row of buttons down one side. A safe zone is the part left over, where your words will still be readable. Anything outside it is not lost, it is just at risk of being covered.
Backgrounds fill the frame. Words do not.
The rule that catches people out: your background should run the full canvas, edge to edge, so there is never a border where the platform crops. Only the words, logos and calls to action need to stay inside the safe zone.
